Running from the BS
Breaking down the run scene, stride by stride.

The Warmup
Hi! I’m Grace, and I’ve spent over half my life as a runner — 13 of my 25 years, to be exact. Over those years, I’ve watched more and more folks join the arguably crazy, definitely amazing, running community.
I think this running boom is awesome. I believe running is a space for everyone, of all paces, ages, and backgrounds. However, that boom brings lots of new philosophies, advice, and so-called “hacks” into the run scene. Some of it’s great. Others? I’m calling BS.
I’ve run around the block a few times, and now I’m throwing in my two cents. Combining my love of the grind with my history as a writer, I’ll be breaking down the good, the bad, and the downright wonky.
Hope you’ll come along for the run — just don’t half-step me.
My Splits
I swear I’ve got some running credibility — no BS. In my time as a runner, I’ve:
✔ Raced 3 marathons, including Boston
✔ Earned second-team All-American honors at college club cross country nationals
✔ Currently race for Milestone Run Crew, a USATF team in San Diego
✔ Passed out and DNF’d my last half marathon (sh*t happens)
